New Future for Queen Mary’s Gets Final Approval

Our local MP, James Brokenshire, has welcomed news that The Secretary of State for Health has given the final approval to transfer Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup to new, stable NHS ownership and to dissolve the failed South London Healthcare Trust (SLHT).  Queen Mary’s will be transferred to the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust at midnight on Monday night (30 September) with hospital services being provided by a number of NHS organisations.

Queen Mary's Hopsital Transfer Approved

Our local MP, James Brokenshire, has said he is delighted that Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust has been given approval to takeover Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup (QMS) saying the change will secure the hospital’s future.

Birkbeck School Campaign taken to Number 10

Our local MP, James Brokenshire, made a special delivery to Number 10 Downing Street last Wednesday to hand in work prepared by children from Birkbeck Primary School in Sidcup showing their support for the “Send my Friend to School” campaign.  The colourful drawings and artwork depicted the children’s ideal teachers to show their support to a commitment to get every primary school aged child worldwide to school by 2015.
