James Brokenshire
Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (2017)
Minister of State for Immigration (2014-2016)
James was our Member of Parliament between May 2010 and May 2017 (dissolution of Parliament). Previously he was the Member of Parliament for Hornchurch and Rainham, and in 2006 he joined the shadow Cabinet as minister for Home Affairs. He has been the Minister for Crime Prevention (2010-11) and then Security Minister at the Home Office (2011-14). Locally James has campaigned on issues such as crime, asylum and immigration and keeping healthcare facilities at Queen Mary's Hospital. Before becoming involved in politics, James was a partner at a large international law firm. He lives in Bexley with his wife and three children.
